Signpost Philippines, Inc.

Who Are We?

Signpost Philippines Inc. (formerly known as Signpost International Inc.)is a non-government organization working among poor, disadvantaged and marginalized people in Western Visayas. It is founded upon Christian principles of love and equity. Signpost works with the poor communities, offering empowerment and support to bring about community-driven change that aims to alleviate poverty.

Our History

The work of Signpost Philippines Incorporated, formerly Signpost International Inc, began in 1992 following a visit by an Anglican minister to an urban slum in Iloilo City.

His experiences deeply moved Sir Kerry Dixon in the Philippines, and as a result, founded the organization with the aim of sharing the love of Jesus Christ in word and action, particularly with poor, disadvantaged and marginalized people.

The organization started its child sponsorship scheme, alongside other projects such as housing and medical assistance in 1995. The scheme set out to help impoverished Filipino children by increasing their access to education and medical aid through monthly cash grants and providing a regular allocation of rice. This program was organized through Signpost International in the UK.

In August 2002, Signpost Philippines Incorporated was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in the Philippines as a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) to operate independently within the Philippines.
