According to Mayor Jerry Treñas, Cebu Pacific has no immediate plans to resume direct flights from Iloilo to Singapore and Hong Kong and vice versa. The mayor had requested the airline to restart its international flights at the Iloilo Airport in Cabatuan, but Cebu Pacific has informed him that the resumption of international flights is not yet in their immediate plans. However, the airline has opened more flights for local destinations.
Cebu Pacific is set to resume its Puerto Princesa, Palawan, and Cagayan de Oro routes via Iloilo starting in June 2023. Flights between Iloilo and Puerto Princesa will be available four times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, beginning on June 23. Meanwhile, operations between the Iloilo International Airport and the Laguindingan Airport in Cagayan de Oro will commence on June 24, and flights for this route will be offered thrice a week, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Cebu Pacific had to suspend the Iloilo-Puerto Princesa and Iloilo-Cagayan De Oro routes during the pandemic when many airlines halted their operations due to the threat of COVID-19, according to Cebu Pacific spokesperson Carmina Romero.
